PALMETTO ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE IMPROVES SEVERE WEATHER RESPONSIVENESS WITH SEDC’S IVR SYSTEM

Electric Cooperative can accept infinite number of phone calls at once with cloud-based IVR system, allowing customers to pay bills, create payment plans, and update information all in one place

ATLANTA –August 25, 2016 –Palmetto Electric Cooperative, Inc., an electric cooperative serving nearly 70,000 customers in South Carolina’s Beaufort, Hampton and Jasper counties, has improved the efficiency of their customer service over the past year with the implementation of Interactive Voice Response (IVR) from SEDC.

Serving areas on South Carolina’s coastline, Palmetto EC provides electricity to a region primarily made up of beachfront homes, hotels and resorts, a tourist area including cities such as Hilton Head and Bluffton, South Carolina. TENNESSEE CO-OP AUTOMATES OUTAGE MANAGEMENT WITH FUTURA SYSTEMS

Upper Cumberland EMC adds GIS, OMS software from Futura Systems to boost reliability, responsiveness

ATLANTA - (July 20, 2016) - Upper Cumberland EMC, an electric power distribution cooperative serving more than 49,000 meters across parts of 10 Tennessee counties, has selected mapping and analytics software from Futura Systems. The cooperative plans to launch the new software this summer.

The addition of Futura’s Catalyst WebMap will bring several CIS and GIS data streams together in one map view, applying analytics to reveal ways Upper Cumberland can use the information to better serve members. For example, it can show the location of available trucks alongside work order data to find the closest technician for a service call.

“We look forward to the seamless integration of the Futura tools with UPN both on the customer and work order side,” said Upper Cumberland EMC Director of Engineering, Wayne Anderson. “My goal is more people will use Futura, and it will be a valuable tool especially in outage management, SCADA, and other programs we hope to implement in the future here at UCEMC.”
